2017 Judge’s Verdict

Judge Vineyard, Bennett Valley

Judge’s Verdict is a Rhone-style blend sourced from cooler climate vines with volcanic soils, lending to a more Northern-Rhone style wine with red & black fruits, darker color and terroir markers of herbs de provence.

2016 Pinot Noir

Stony Point Vineyard, Petaluma Gap

A bright, ripe dark cherry style of Pinot Noir with earthy notes from the Petaluma Adobe Clay. The Petaluma Gap is emerging as the new terroir of Pinot Noir, a bit warmer and denser than Russian River, more fruit than Carneros, and a bit more spice than the Sonoma Coast.

2014 Pinot Noir

Roma’s Vineyard, Anderson Valley

Our 2014 Roma’s Vineyard is a Pinot-lover’s Pinot Noir. Not a big bruiser Cali Pinot. This is elegant, high-elevation Pinot Noir that soaks in the sunshine high above the cloud line with long hang time in the cold reaches above the Anderson Valley of Mendocino county.

Timothy’s pick for finesse and power. When you can’t decide between opening a Cabernet or a Pinot, open Grenache! Brooding and spicy with layers of dark blue and black fruits, our 2014 Grenache feels like it’s been wrapped in a silk pashmina with gorgeous tannins and a long, long finish.

2015 Judge’s Verdict

Judge Vineyard, Bennett Valley

A blend of 80% Syrah, and 20% Grenache, we find that this cooler pocket of Sonoma county, with late morning fogs and coastal breezes, reminds us of the northern Rhône. With rocky basalt/schist soils, big minerality, and heavy clay, this is a big and serious wine. Very dark color, sourced from five micro sites on the property, each with a different clone of Syrah or Grenache and different characteristics.
